The fashion industry creates over
92 million tons
of textile waste every year.
We think that's gross.
So, we're doing things differently. Every Inner Peace Tee is made to order.
That means no bulk orders sitting on shelves in warehouses waiting to get shipped to a landfill if no one buys them. Now that's cool.
Sometimes this process takes a little longer but we think it's worth it!
Our partners use a process called Direct-to-garment (DTG) printing. It's cost effective AND more sustainable than traditional screen printing.
Not only does traditional screen printing use a lot of water and plastisol inks that don’t biodegrade, but it’s also requires extensive set up times and upfront costs that make sense only for bulk orders which can lead to overproduction, waste and higher prices. Yuck.
One of our long-term partners is Bella + Canvas, a clothing manufacturer with care for the environment embedded in their brand identity.
Bella + Canvas uses solar energy, limits water use, and recycles waste by-products to make sure their products can sport the eco-friendly tag.
They have developed a hybrid approach to their manufacturing that utilizes America’s strengths along with the strengths of their international partners to create the highest quality product, at the best price, all while supporting US jobs.
Bella + Canvas has dedicated immeasurable resources to growing their domestic sewing during the past two decades and now employs over 1,000 people in their Los Angeles facility.
